Summer Class Schedule & Tuition
Pre Ballet
Ages 4-5
In this 30 minute class, students will learn coordination, musical awareness, movement imagination and creative response to music to encourage a love of dance and prepare them for Ballet Basics.

Ages 5-7
This one hour class covers the
ABCs and 123s of Ballet including core steps, simple patterns, French terms, and musicality in a light-hearted
fun manner that prepares students
for Core study

Intro To Ballet For Adults
Ages 14+
This class is great for beginners aged 16 and older who would like to focus on the fundamentals of ballet. Students will learn barre and floor exercises and expand on learned knowledge weekly.

Beginning Tap
Ages 5 and Up
This class is great for students who are new to the world of dance. Tap technique will be explored in each class as students become familiar with the movements, muscles used and the music of Tap!

Beginner/ Intermediate Tap
Ages 5 and Up
Appropriate for beginning level dancer or up to 3 years training. Students learn tap including basic vocabulary, styles and fundamentals of Tap through technique, floor progressions and dance combinations. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation.

Ages 7-12
Appropriate for beginning level dancer or up to 3 years training. Students learn to dance using jazz dance styles with an emphasis on using the whole body, self expression and spatial awareness. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation.

Ballet Foundation
Ages 7+
Appropriate for students ready to start learning the technique foundation that will enable intermediate and advanced steps. Emphasizes classical alignment, articulation, extension, multiple pirouettes, intermediate traveling turns, intermediate petit allegro and beginning beats, elevation; musicality; and more complex memory work.

Teacher Recommendation
This class moves beyond foundational technique. Summer classes are more relaxed than the strict discipline of our regular year Intermediate classes, but still emphasize alignment, articulation, extension, elevation and musicality, while dancing more involved choreographic phrases with intermediate pirouettes, waltzes, small jumps, grand allegro and coda typical traveling turns.

Pop Ballet & Choreography
Foundation Level Dancers or Higher
Open to Foundation & higher level students. The class involves Ballet exercises set to Pop music for an energized recreational enjoyment of both. The second half of class practices the process of choreographic phrase development as instructors demonstrate process and encourage students to explore their own creativity. Students are encouraged to present/teach movement to the class and support their fellow dancers’ pieces.

Choreography & Composition
Open to Foundation Level Students or Higher
This class offers an exploration of the building blocks of choreography. Students consider the elements of dance and the structural framework involved to set off those elements, immersing themselves in the choreographic process to individually create pieces for an informal showing at the end of the summer. This class aims to develop familiarity of concepts necessary for student choreography inclusion in future Thread City Classical Dance performances.
