Children's Ballet
An Introduction to Ballet
Thread City Classical Dance offers children's classes featuring developmentally appropriate foundational skill building coupled with exceptional artistic training to support all of our dancer's health and development.
Classes culminate with a spring performance at the end of the year!
If a family enrolls in multiple classes, a 15% discount will be automatically applied to their total at payment.
DYNAMIC DUOS: TINY TOTS
A movement-based introduction to ballet for our youngest dancers and their caregivers that explores the magic of dance and movement. Enjoy a special time as dance partners for creative dance, stories and games that fosters physical and mental development, coordination, and balance, as well as to develop early social skills

PRE-BALLET
A playful introduction to ballet class for our young dancers, introducing the concepts of posture, rhythm, and balance. Students will learn the basics of dance movements using arms and hands, different ways of moving around the room and across the floor through creative interpretation of music.

PRIMARY A/B BALLET
In Primary A/B Ballet, dancers are introduced to the beauty and joy of classical ballet in a fun, encouraging environment. Students will build coordination, balance, strength, musicality, and confidence while learning foundational ballet positions, steps, and terminology. Through imaginative movement, expressive artistry, and age-appropriate exercises, dancers develop grace, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for dance.

FOUNDATION A
Students in Foundation A will build a strong foundation in basic ballet skills, adequately equipping them for entering the Classical Ballet Program if they choose after successful completion of Foundation A. Foundation A students will continue to use everything they have learned in Primary A & B adding more complex movements to their vocabulary and combinations.

BEGINNING BALLET FOR OLDER CHILDREN
Beginning Ballet for Older Children is designed for students ages 7+ with little or no ballet experience. Dancers will build a strong classical foundation by learning proper posture, alignment, ballet vocabulary, musicality, and the fundamental positions and steps of ballet. Through structured, age-appropriate instruction, students develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and artistry while gaining the confidence and discipline needed for continued ballet training in either Foundation A or Foundation B Ballet.
