Children's Ballet

An Introduction to Ballet

Thread City Classical Dance is proud to offer a children's program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. Classes culminate with a spring performance at the end of the year!

DYNAMIC DUOS: TINY TOTS

A movement-based introduction to ballet for our youngest dancers and their caregivers.

Offered:

Tuesdays 8:45 - 9:30 a.m.​​

Ages Toddler - 2

PRE-PRIMARY

A playful introduction to ballet class for our young dancers introducing the concepts of posture, rhythm, and balance. Students will learn the basics of dance movements using arms and hands, different ways of moving around the room and across the floor through creative interpretation of music.

Offered:

Tuesdays 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

Thursdays 5 - 5:45 p.m.

Saturdays 10:15 - 11:00 a.m.

Dance class

PRIMARY A

In the first year of Primary Ballet students will begin to lay a strong foundation for their more serious studies in the future with exercises to build strong muscles, expressive arms and hands and a deeper understanding of ballet’s most common rhythms.

Thursdays 5:45 - 6:45 p.m. - Age 5

Primary A&B Combination Class (Ages 5&6) offered

Tuesdays 10:15-11:15 a.m.

Saturday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Young Ballerinas

PRIMARY B

This year we will continue with everything we learned in the first year while we add more ballet vocabulary to our positions, arms, rhythms, and jumps.

Wednesdays 5:15 - 6:15 p.m. - Age 6

Primary A&B Combination Class (Ages 5&6) offered

Tuesdays 10:15 - 11:15 a.m.

Saturday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

FOUNDATION A

Foundation A students will continue to use everything they have learned in Primary A & B adding more complex movements to their vocabulary and combinations.

Offered:

Mondays 5:00 - 6:15 p.m.

Saturdays 12:15 - 1:30 p.m.

Age 7+

BEGINNING BALLET FOR OLDER CHILDREN

Beginning Ballet students will build a strong foundation for more serious studies in the future with exercises to build strong muscles, expressive arms and hands and gain an understanding of ballet’s most common rhythms and vocabulary.

Tuesdays 11:15 - 12:15 p.m.

Age 7-12
